Researchers believe that eliminating the cancer stem cells is key to controlling cancer.” Sulforaphane, an extract from broccoli, successfully destroyed these cancer stem cells in human breast cancer cells as well as in mice.

If you’re seeking better sleep, try switching up your nighttime lightbulbs to lower wattages. In a Harvard Medical School study, people in a dimly lit room made the sleep hormone melatonin 2 hours before bedtime, while those in a brightly lit room didn’t make melatonin until 23 minutes before bedtime. Other research has linked low melatonin levels to increased risk of hypertension, breast cancer, and type 2 diabetes, so this simple switch could make a big difference.

A German study of 125 breast cancer patients finds that intravenous vitamin C improves quality of life., and that it can be used safely during chemotherapy or radiation. Patients who received intravenous vitamin C concurrent with their chemotherapy or radiation had significant improvements in their tolerance of conventional therapy.
